Jarrettown has a long history of excellence in music in our weekly Worship Services and special seasonal musical programs. Have your worship enhanced and deepened by our music, or join us in one of our musical groups.

Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir sings a wide variety of music styles at the 11 am worship:

• great hymns of the Christian faith
• music from centuries of the great choral tradition
• African American Spirituals
• hymns from other cultures
• recent compositions by traditional church musicians

Rehearsals meet each Thursday - 7:30 pm.

A Trio or Quartet sings at the 8:15 am worship.

Festival Choir

Several times a year, all our service choirs join others in the congregation for special musical presentations and to lead worship. Often these presentations are accompanied by orchestra.

 

 

 

 

 

Praise Band

Our Praise Band provides music for our 9:30 Celebration Service. Members of this group are committed to being leaders of worship in the service both singing and playing musical instruments, such as guitars, keyboards and drums.

Music is:

• current praise and worship,
• recent contemporary Christian song
• hymns set in contemporary pop / rock style

Rehearsals are every Tuesday - 7:30 pm.

 

Kids Choirs

There are TWO choirs -

Praise Pals (Pre-K through 5th grade) and Joyful Noise (6th grade and up) Rehearsals are on Sunday - 5:00 pm.

We sing a variety of music, learn to play musical instruments, and develop skills in rhythm, melody and harmony. Both choirs provide special music monthly in Sunday worship, as well as seasonal events.

 

Vocal Soloists, Ensembles and Instrumental Groups

Do you like to sing or play an instrument? There are multiple opportunities in the year to share those gifts either through solos or as part of ensembles: seasonal events, larger musical presentations or weekly worship services.
