We Welcome Sheri Melcher

as our new Organist

& Choir Director

A native of Philadelphia, Sheri Melcher performs regularly as a chamber musician, accompanist and soloist.

She has performed four chamber music recitals at Carnegie's Weill Recital Hall with Philadelphia Orchestra musicians Richard Amoroso, violin and Adam Unsworth, horn. The trio will perform in May 2008 at The Kimmel Center’s Perelman Theater in Philadelphia.

Sheri has performed in recital with internationally acclaimed violinist

Eugene Fodor at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C, and with members of the Baltimore Symphony and National Symphony Orchestras.

She has collaborated with many fine organizations including Mendelssohn Club of Philadelphia, The Concert Opera of Philadelphia, Astral Artistic Services and The Philadelphia Singers. As the Associate Director and accompanist of The Choral Society of Montgomery County, she has traveled to the Czech Republic, Wales and Hungary to compete in

choral festivals.

Sheri joined the music faculty of Chestnut Hill Academy (K-12 College Prep School) in 1995. She teaches courses in music history, music theory and world music in both Middle and Upper School. She also co-directs CHA’s Boychoir and Handbell Choirs as well as the Percussion Ensemble and the Middle School Drama Program.

She is a graduate of Peabody Conservatory of Music and Temple University's Esther Boyer College of Music. Her teachers have included Fernando Laires, Marian Hahn, Charles Abramovic and Lambert Orkis.

She currently resides in Blue Bell, PA with her husband Michael,

10-year-old daughter Kayla and 2-year-old son Sam.
